This is a very beautiful custom built watchmakers or Jewelers Bench. It comes complete with a lathe motor and one adjustable chair and a lamp. This Bench was custom built about 50 years ago for a watchmaker that worked for the US Navy. It also has an inlaid ruler for measuring items.

Gruen Curvex

Interesting Watches.  The Gruen Curvex. These watches were made in the 1940's and became very popular.  Both of these examples are in 14KT yellow gold cases.

They arrived for general maintenance which will be done shortly.

Early E. Howard Pocket Watch From 1869.

Here is an interesting old original E. Howard pocket watch that was made in 1869.  We are selling this watch for $795.00.  This watch has an original coin silver case.  If interested contact us at timebuilderebay@aol.com.

The movement is in good condition.

It is key wind and key set from the back.

The dial has one chip and a few very slight hairlines.  We will install a new
glass crystal.

Vintage Hallmark Men's Wrist Watch in 14KT Gold Case.

It's always exciting when a new watch arrives for restoration.  Today we received one from a client in Etna, California.  Below are some exciting pictures of this watch. After all of these years, this watch was still in running condition.

We will be overhauling the movement.

The dial will be refinished to original condition.

The case will be polished. Note the very unique lug ends of this watch.

We will also be installing a new glass crystal from our stock of over 10,000 vintage

Old Rolex showing how radium on the dial and hands burned the crystal.

These old radium dials and hands used by Rolex are very dangerous. It's also a well known fact that workers hired to paint these dials died horrible deaths.

Watchmakers Old Hand Operated Lathe or Turns.

This is a nice set of old watchmakers turns.  It's been restored and is on a nice wood base.  Saw this at the Antique Mall yesterday so thought I would share it here.

This shows the faceplate.  Upon checking, everything looked in good operating condition.  It was priced at $795.00.

Rolex RED LETTER Submariner Design 1680.

The RED LETTER Submariner is an item that most collectors of Rolex watches have an intense desire to own.  Most of the time when you find just the dial only listed for sale, they usually go for around $3000.00 to $4000.00 based on condition.

This one came into our shop for service only.  The customer wanted the crystal left original and only polished.  Beyond that we serviced the movement and replaced the gaskets.

The movement was in very good condition.  The owner had not worn the watch in over 20 years.  Due to this the movement was in very good condition and showed no signs of wear.

The original bezel insert is missing the small pearl marker at the 12 position.

 

The crystal was lightly polished to remove scratches.  Note some of the chips around the edge of the crystal.  We also installed a new aftermarket band.

Rolex Stainless Steel Case Corrosion of a DateJust.

Rolex uses what they think is a very specially alloyed stainless steel that is super strong and according to Rolex won't corrode.  However, this is not the case at all.  Their alloy might be "special" but it still corrodes and in many cases at a very alarming rate.

 

The picture above shows one of the lug ends with obvious pitting caused by excessive corrosion.

 

This is the case back that is pitted from corrosion.
